Discovery School’s Kindergarten program blends hands-on learning, academic excellence, and whole-child development to create a dynamic and engaging educational experience. Rooted in a child-centered philosophy, our program nurtures curiosity, independence, and a lifelong love of learning. In our Kindergarten program in San Antonio, children actively participate in whole group lessons, small group instruction, and engaging center-based activities. As a result, students develop essential literacy and math skills in a supportive, nurturing environment.
Our Kindergarten curriculum is designed to develop strong literacy and math foundations through a balance of:
Whole group instruction
Small group learning

One-on-one teacher support
Through our unique Weekly Contract Centers, students actively engage in literacy and numeracy activities across all subject areas. These include art, dramatic play, science, block building, and listening centers—allowing children to move freely while building independence, time management, and accountability.
Each center is intentionally designed to meet students where they are, offering both support and challenge through differentiated instruction.
